You can't go to Sydney without spending at least one day at the beach and that beach has to be Bondi. For a couple of Dollars we caught a state bus there from Hyde Park.
Even though it was busy, it wasn't like a busy UK beach with families of screaming young trunkless children, ice cream and dog poo. It was more sunbathing and surfing. I with Sara and Ben, we spent an hour or so paddling in the warm water, catching the rays and taking photos.
Oh and I made a "sand"water crocodile...
On Caroline and Adam's recommendation we decided to do the Bondi to Bronte/Coogee Coastal Walk. With some breath taking views, we walked round Mackenzies Point.
There was settlement of people living in the alcoves of the rock face, with their own flags and fencing, which you can see below.
Fencing along the walk was patchy. Not a walk for those scared of heights, falling, or steep drops.
At Tamarama we had a rest, out of the sun, with a cool drink from the cafe. Whilst we were sat we watched the acrobatics of a plane writing in the sky.
We struggled on around to the next few beaches in the blazing sun, before deciding to call it a day and head back the way we came, so we never made it to the end of the walk, but it was becoming less enjoyable for the heat.
We were lucky, we got back to Bondi, managed a bit of tourist shopping before hopping on a bus back to Sydney just as the heavens opened and drowned Bondi and it's beach.
We headed back to the apartment and caught the most spectacular thunder and lightning storms raging all around Sydney, getting perfect views of it all from our position on the 49th floor.
